Indie RPG Awards

The Indie RPG Awards were announced on Friday at GenCon Indy 2010 at the Design Matters booth. Started in 2002, independently published games are nominated each year and voted on by their peers. Pirate Jenny games were well represented for 2009!

Kagematsu won the Indie Game of the Year for 2009. Congratulations to Danielle! Kagetmatsu also placed third for Most Innovative Game (won by Paul Tevis' A Penny for My Thoughts).

Thou Art But a Warrior and RPGirl took second and third place respectively for Best Supplement which was won by The Day after Ragnarok by Ken Hite.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!

Kagematsu nominated for Diana Jones Award

The Diana Jones committee has chosen Danielle Lewon's Kagematsu-the RPG as one of their picks for the shortlist for the 2010 award.

The Diana Jones award, described as "is an annual award created to publicly acknowledge excellence in gaming", is prestigious. It has been won in years past by a wide variety of games, communities and projects such as Grey Ranks by Jason Morningstar, Dominion the card game by Donald Vaccarino, and the Irish game convention charity auctions.

This year, Kagematsu is joined by the convention-busting historical rpg Montsegur 1244, the lively and extremely informative Board Game Geek forums and website, and Chaos in the Old World a very popular board game from Fantasy Flight Games.

Pirate Jenny wishes Danielle and all of the nominees the best of luck! (But maybe a little more for Danielle!)

A blogger post about Kagematsu

Hi Folks,

Paul let me know that a woman who has a blogger blog has posted about Kagematsu. I love the name of it, the 20 Sided Woman Project! I've only read a few entries but she talks about gender and role playing.
